In the past few years, the UK insurance industry has experienced an unprecedented level of Mergers and Acquisitions activity which now leaves the industry with few insurance intermediaries offering advice that is truly independent of ties with Insurers. Many customers are now at the mercy of large consolidating organisations. This has inevitably led to many customers receiving a limited and impersonal service with their Broker only providing access to policies from a single provider or at best a limited panel of "preferred providers".
