Balens were founded in 1950 and are an ethical 4th Generation Family Brokerage with over 50 staff and 80,000 plus clients. Balens pioneered specialist wordings for Health and Well-Being Professionals over 25 years ago and pride ourselves on the full range of services developed during that time to support our clients.

Balens pioneered top quality cover for chiropractors in the early 1990s and have been actively involved as a major supplier to for them ever since. We have worked behind the scenes not only in education, but in a consultancy capacity, helping with risk management and supporting chiropractors with regulation matters. Balens have been a loyal and long serving servant of the chiropractic community.

Our policies are realistically priced and the policy wording is one of the widest available on the market and includes many important features that other policies may not. Our policy is a uniquely designed "hybrid" policy incorporating the advantages of a Claims Made and Claims Occurring wording without their disadvantages! We are very flexible and can respond quickly to changed circumstances and needs. As well as all types of Chiropractic we can include over 3000 different therapies and techniques within the one policy, many at no additional premium!

OTs have a very wide range of activities and abilities, and our cover has been designed to encompass all of these.

David Balen designed cover many years ago in conjunction with the BAOT to ensure that private practitioners were fully covered. David's daughter Annie obtained a BSc honours degree in Occupational Therapy and has worked in various NHS Trusts across the UK, giving Balens additional insight into the world of an OT.
